Yan An Hotel

A old 4 star hotel but well maintained. Room was clean with comfy bed ( more towards hard type) but the pillow is abit too soft to my liking. I booked on north building. I did not know it was not at the main building ( where check in is done) the reception did not inform me about it. So it took me sometimes to figure out that it's actually is at the next building. To go to the lift there is a few steps. So it's a little hard to bring heavy luggage up the stairs. The cleaner on 4th floor ( my room) is very nice and polite, I asked for extra water, she gave to me and told me to ask for more if I needed. My sister room on 2nd floor has very strong cigarettes smoke smell even though I asked for a non smoking room, we asked to change to another room which the staff gladly arranged for us. Location is great as it's near train station, temple and malls. It's easy to call for taxi as well as they have a big lobby/parking area.

I stayed in this hotel in different years. So, I have a good comparison base. I was particularly happy with the very kind help by Guo the receptionist. He accompanied me to the room to show it and immediately proceeded with check in without any fuss. He kindly responded positively to all my queries and made me very welcome. I had a very good New Year's thanks to the Great location of the hotel and the help provided by the staff. I would certainly return to stay there again.

Disappointing Stay – NOT Recommended for International Travelers or Light Sleepers We stayed here for four nights and were left quite disappointed by several aspects of the hotel. 1. Noise Issues: The room was not soundproof at all. Road noise from passing cars was constant, and worse, you can hear every single door slam and conversation in the hallway — it felt like the walls were made of paper. Resting was nearly impossible, especially at night. 2. Misleading Room Information: We were placed in a separate building that is not connected to the main lobby, and this was not clearly disclosed on Trip.com when we booked. As travelers unfamiliar with the property layout, there was no way to tell the difference between buildings from the listing. The building we stayed in also had no covered walkway, so every time it rained, we had to run in to avoid getting drenched — whether it was returning from a Didi ride or picking up food deliveries. I did go to the reception requesting for a room switch within the shaded area as I have a senior citizen with me and since we were staying for four nights, but were told it was fully booked (the reception didn’t even bother checking their system) despite me saying that I don’t mind moving even on the coming days. 3. Poor Accessibility Support: There is a short flight of stairs before you can reach the lift in the building we were assigned to. With luggage, this was a hassle. While the hotel displays a local contact number to call for assistance, it’s not helpful for international guests without a local SIM card. We had no choice but to walk all the way back to reception to ask for help. What made this worse was that we saw the butler assisting local tourists with their luggage, but despite it being obvious I was struggling with mine, no help was offered to us. It left a negative impression and felt inconsistent, if not selective. Would not recommend this property for international travelers or anyone who values peace, accessibility, and basic hospitality. Please do not be tricked by the 4 star rating, it felt more like a 2 star hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is its location which is close to Line 2,7 and 14. You can take Line 2 to go to the airport and the entrance to the metro has escalators, which is easier for luggage handling.
